Stone's Original Green Ginger Wine 70cl
Essential for a whisky Mac (half whisky, half Stone's).
False Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2009 (South Africa)
This wine is brilliant, really refreshing, vibrant and amazingly good value for the quality of the wine. Fresh and crisp with a lovely aromatic nose. Flavours of greengage, citrus acidity and a fine, mineral finish. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are sourced from some of the best sites across the Cape - a parcel of very aromatic cool climate fruit from Durbanville, a small component of richer more tropical fruit from Paardeberg and a small parcel from the Waterkloof estate in Stellenbosch, all brought together under the watchful care and attention of Waterkloof's award winning winemaker Werner Engelbrecht.
Calbuco Cabernet-Merlot 2009( Chile)
Sample bottles of this were a huge hit at our Summer Wine Fair, so it has been introduced as a permanent fixture; with some oak, this is soft, easy-drinking plummy Merlot.
'Cuvee L'Almandin' 2003 Chateau L'Euziere, Pic St Loup (Southern France)
Bin End, limited stock was £ 8.99
An unfiltered blend of mainly Syrah with some Grenache and Mourvredre - a very typical wine of the region, with its wonderful aroma of 'garrigues', and a palate crammed with juicy ripe berry fruit.
Krohn Ambassador Ruby Port
Matured for 3 years in oak casks before being bottled, this is rich and smooth with lots of berry fruit flavours making it ideal for outdoor events.
Ponte Pietra Trebbiano Garganega 2009 (Italy)
Very fresh on the nose with lightly floral notes, especially the characteristic almond blossom perfumes found in the best whites from this area.
Trebbiano is a grape that often struggles to whip up any enthusiasm from us, but here, married with Garganega it produces a wine or really good value. A blend of 60% Trebbiano and 40% Garganega, it has soft fresh apple fruit on the palate, with a clean zesty finish.
Named as one of the Wines of the Month in Decanter Magazine who said it was: "One of the best affordable wines to snap up and drink now."
Los Gansos Pinot Noir 2009 (Chile)
Los Gansos (the geese) are a symbol of the many ways that Cono Sur is doing things the natural way. Together with a number of friendly insects, the wild geese help to keep the pests and parasites away from the vine, just as nature intended. This attention to detail during all aspects of the winemaking process ensures tha Cono Sur wines are full of fresh and vibrant fruit flavours. This single varietal Pinot Noir has rich notes of cherry, plum and strawberry that are enhanced by subtle smoky hints.
False Bay Rosé (Western Cape, South Africa)
A fruit-driven, slightly spicy pale Rosé with summer fruits and boiled sweets on the palate and a lovely clean, dry finish.
Torres Santa Digna Rosé 2009 (Central Valley, Chile)
Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wonderfully dark rosé shows nectarine and cranberry over a background of violet and orange with a lovely smooth finish.
Chateau L'Hestrange Beaujolais Villages 2007 (Beaujolais, France)
A lovely silky, soft, fruit driven Beaujolais with aromas of violets and a hint of banana with a red fruit laden palate. Great served lightly chilled.
