Krohn Porto Branco Dry White Port
(Portugal)

Krohn Porto Branco Dry White Port
(Portugal)

Deep golden colour; complex nutty aromas gleaned from long wood ageing; rich, honeyed flavours with long tangy finish and acidity. Very superior to most white ports.

Below is a tasting note from the Krohn owner José Carneiro.

Graham's 'The Tawny' Port

Graham's 'The Tawny' Port

Tawny Ports are aged in wooden casks as opposed to Vintage Ports that are aged in bottle. Once a port has been in an oak cask for 6 years it takes on a tawny colour and the tannins soften, giving the wine a smooth mouth-feel without losing too many of the rich raisiny fruit flavours.

Krohn Colheita Port 2000
(Portugal)

Krohn Colheita Port 2000
(Portugal)

Aged for 8 years in wood a colheita is basically a tawny port from a single vintage. Like the Grahams this is paler than an LBV with a tawny colour. Spice/raisins and hints of buttery toffee on the nose lead to a lovely palate of ripe black cherry fruit and a nutty finish.

Below is a tasting note from the Krohn owner José Carneiro.

Dow's Quinta do Bomfim 2001

Dow's Quinta do Bomfim 2001

'Has mixed berry, with cocoa, leather, rose petals, pepper and cigar box aromas. The flavours of deep berry, mixed black fruit, cedar, tobacco, sandlewood, spice and briar are concentrated, complex and extracted with good depth and length.' The Underground Wine Journal
