Krohn Ambassador Ruby Port
Matured for 3 years in oak casks before being bottled, this is rich and smooth with lots of berry fruit flavours making it ideal for outdoor events.
Dow's Late Bottled Vintage Port 2001
Winner of the International Wine Challenge Trophy for the best LBV, this is a rich barrel aged, deep ruby port that has aromas of blueberries and cherries
Krohn Porto Branco Seco
Great with tonic and lime.
Fonseca Organic Terra Prima Port
A new and unique addition to our list - a port made entirely from organically grown grapes and spirit.
Grahams 'The Tawny' Port
Tawny Ports are aged in wooden casks as opposed to Vintage Ports that are aged in bottle. Once a port has been in an oak cask for 6 years it takes on a tawny colour and the tannins soften, giving the wine a smooth mouth-feel without losing too many of the rich raisiny fruit flavours.
Smith Woodhouse Late Bottled Vintage Port 1995
This is a selection of some of teh finsest quality of wine of a single year, bottled, like Vintage Port, without fining or filtration, but after four years rather than two in barrel. This extra aging softens the wnie and leads to an accelerated ageing in bottle. The result is akin to fully mature Vintage Port in flavour and complexity.
Krohn Colheita 1997
Aged for 8 years in wood a colheita is basically a tawny port from a single vintage. Like the Grahams this is paler than an LBV with a tawny colour. Spice/raisins and hints of buttery toffee on the nose lead to a lovely palate of ripe black cherry fruit and a nutty finish.
De Bortoli's "Old Boys 21 year old Tawny" (Australia)
If we were to call this "Australian Port" we would get into all sorts of trouble so we just think of it as "fortified wine" that you would have after dinner (actually very good with christmas pud) or with cheese.
Taylor's Quinta de Vargellas Port Vintage 1998
"One of the oldest and consistently one of the best shippers ... the style of their tremendous vintage wines, of unrivalled ripeness, depth and every other dimension, is largely derived from their famous Quinta de Vargellas". Hugh Johnson, Modern Encyclopedia of wine.
Dow's Quinta do Bomfim 1998
'Has mixed berry, with cocoa, leather, rose petals, pepper and cigar box aromas. The flavours of deep berry, mixed black fruit, cedar, tobacco, sandlewood, spice and briar are concentrated, complex and extracted with good depth and length.' The Underground Wine Journal
