Christmas wine tastings

Our Winter Tastings are much smaller shows than our Summer Wine Fair, with about 50 wines arranged in tasting order, most of which will be on some sort of Christmas offer. Unlike the summer shows no producers will be present. Stocks permitting, the same wines will be on show at each venue, simply come to the one that suits you.

Winemaker's Tutoured tastings.

Aside from our Summer Wine Festival and Christmas Wine Shows, twice a year or so we have tasting events with talks from visiting winemakers or experts in a particular region. Past events have included:

A Tapas & Paella night with Spanish wine expert author & BBC broadcaster John Radford.

A talk from the back of a 'Ute' by Yalumba winemaker Jane Ferrari, complete with a BBQ of Kangaroo burgers.

"A Booze Cruise with Hooves": talks by Rupert Pritchett on the horse drawn barge from Godalming Wharf.

Most recently we hosted a Llama walk and talk on Chilean wine making by Carlos de Carlos of the Errazuriz winery - some photos of the event are pictured below.

Llama Walk and a Chilean Tutored Wine Tasting

Have you ever taken part in the ancient Surrey tradition of Llama walking? If not you missed quite an evening. We left the store for an hours trek through the beautiful Surrey hills (An area of outstanding natural beauty) with Carlos and the llamas.

Once a thirst (and an appetite) had been worked up we returned to the store for an al-fresco tutored tasting by Carlos de Carlos the Export Director of Errazuriz who flew in from Dublin for the event. Empadas (little Chilean pasties) and other South American delicacies were served during the tasting.
